Mark your calendars for the Fidelity Investments “Leadership in Technology” executive speaker series. These sessions are open to the public and include speakers from Bandwidth.com, ibiblio.org, and Dell. The Fall 2012 speakers line-up includes:

Tuesday, September 18
David Morken, Co-founder & CEO, Bandwidth
Topic “Weapons of Mass Disruption”

Thursday, October 18
Paul Jones, Director of ibiblio.org
Topic “#noemail – Why you could/should/must use better ways of communicating than email!”

Thursday, November 15
James Stikeleather, Executive Strategist, Innovation for Dell
Topic – “How to Bolster the Impact of Today’s CIO – Moving Beyond Faster, Better, Cheaper”

All talks will start at 6 pm in Room 1231 Engineering Building 2 (EB2) and will be followed by an open reception in the EB2 East Atrium. Talks are free and open to the public. I'm a neighborhood advocate. I started off by getting involved in the Pleasant Ridge & Ramsgate Community Watch program and helped unite other neighborhoods in my community by forming the Lineberry Alliance. I continue work with neighborhood leaders in the District D Neighborhood Alliance (DDNA) and serve as planning co-chair for CityCamp Raleigh. I've completed Raleigh Neighborhood College (Spring 2005) and Leadership North Carolina (May 2007). In 2009, I lead a group of volunteers to review Raleigh's 2030 Comprehensive Plan. I served as chair of Raleigh's South West Citizen Advisory Council (SWCAC) from April 2010-2012.
