Join us for our Hillsborough Street Annual Meeting on March 21, at H-Street Kitchen. The Annual Meeting will be a time for us to reflect upon the accomplishments of the past year, and look forward to the exciting things 2017 will bring to the Hillsborough Street District.

This event is free and open to the public, however you must RSVP to reserve your ticket. Space is limited. Dinner and beverages will be provided.

Keynote Speaker :

Mark Hoverseten has served as the Dean of NC State’s College of Design since July 2016. He is a registered lanscape architect who had previously served as dean and professor at the University of Idaho. Prior to that, he served as assistant, associate, and full professor at the University of Navada – Las Vega, where he was also coordinator of landscape architecture and planning.

If you live in Raleigh, you automatically are a member of a Citizens Advisory Council. The City of Raleigh has 19 CACs, each representing a different geographic region of the city.

Each CAC elects its own officers and decides its own activities and priorities. All CAC meetings are open to everyone; however, you can vote only at meetings of the CAC where you reside. You can attend as an individual or you can represent your neighborhood-based organization at your CAC meetings.

CACs are nonpartisan. CACs are the only advisory boards to the City Council that are not appointed by the Council.

The NCSU Libraries is proud to present the premiere screening of the documentaryTalking Black in America. African American speech is the most influential—and controversial—language variety in the history of American English. Talking Black in America is the first documentary describing and explaining the status of African American Language in American society. Filmed in locations ranging from the Caribbean and Sea Islands to the rural South and metropolitan areas of the North, it examines the historical roots of African American Language, its contemporary status in society and education, and its role in everyday life, cultural tradition and artistic performance.

Join us on Saturday, March 25 for Pullen Parks 130th Anniversary from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Pullen Park is turning 130 years old and we want to celebrate with you! Join us for exciting community art project and installation on Saturday March 25th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Raleigh local and artist, Autumn Cobeland, famous for the Greenway series of works, will be leading a unique opportunity for participants to help create a beautiful mosaic. Guests of all ages will be able to assist in the creation of the mosaic. The completed artwork will become the backdrop of the Pullen Park stage for events this Spring. In addition to this exciting and engaging art project, the Pullen Memory Squad will be out in the park collecting memories and stories from our guests. Some lucky guests will win free tickets and other fun prizes for sharing their stories!
