The Capital Area Ride for Safety (CARS)  ride aims to promote the need to educate, raise awareness and encourage positive interaction between motorists and bicyclists. Proceeds benefit BikeWalk NC and our bicycle safety education program.

CARS will be held again this year on Sunday, September 24 from leaving at 9am, (Registration opens at 8am), from Wakefield High School in Raleigh NC.  There will be a 14 mile ride to Halifax Mall downtown with a 14 mile return trip back to Wakefield High.  The Raleigh Police Department will offer police assistance along the entire way and at the intersections.  Alternate Urban ride: From the Lynnwood Brewery parking lot, join Oaks and Spokes to ride 2.5 miles to Halifax Mall also with a 2.5 mile return. We will have refreshments, socialize and hear from a few keynote statewide and Triangle-area elected officials, advocates and safety experts as we utilize a rest stop at Halifax Mall.
