Food and Drink

There are countless good places to eat out in SouthWestRaleigh. Hillsborough Street, Glenwood South, Cameron Village, and Downtown have great eatery and bar line-ups, but delicious dining options cover all corners of SWR. Be sure to check out Iron Chef, James Beard Award winner, and SouthWestRaleigh resident Ashley Christensen’s restaurants and sample Raleigh’s new upscale vegan eateries, Fiction Kitchen and Living Kitchen. New in 2019, Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing is THE place to be with one of the best views of downtown Raleigh.

Looking for something al fresco? Check out one of the four annual Downtown Food Truck Rodeos and you may run into the Pho Nominal Dumpling ladies, winners of Food Network’s 2015 Great Food Truck Race.

For beverage-focused establishments in SWR, try a beer at the Raleigh Beer Garden, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the most beers on tap, or have a wee dram of whiskey at Dram and Draught. Or you might enjoy a cocktail at the Aloft Hotel’s W XYZ Bar overlooking Hillsborough Street and the NCSU Belltower.
