Oaks & Spokes is a collaborative effort to grow bicycling community and culture in Raleigh. They support bicycling as a viable mode of transportation and intend to leave a lingering impact through outreach, collaboration, and making real change within our city. Their 2014 festival kicked-off on First Friday.

A flurry of activity happened over the weekend that started rolling on First Friday. There was a “Raleigh Bikes Art Show” at the Benelux Cafe and a Bike First Friday Ride that wheeled off at the NC State Belltower. On Saturday, WESA Cat, an adventurous scavenger hunt bike race, commonly known as an alleycat, took cyclist on a 10 mile hunt around Raleigh. Then Oaks and Spokes wrapped up the weekend with a Triangle Tweed Ride on Sunday afternoon at the Benelux Cafe.
