wedge gardenThe Wedge Garden got its name because it lies on a wedge-shaped plot on Park Avenue, owned by the YMCA. The Hillsborough CAC built the community garden in 2010 with funds from its City of Raleigh budget and lots of volunteer labor. Currently the garden is funded by a lot of sweat equity, various in-kind contributions, and (modest) member dues.

This year’s garden kick-off is Saturday, March 23. Neighbors will be joined by Service Day Raleigh volunteers in amending the soil and installing some hardscaping. Your help would be much appreciated!

Ways you can help

  • Join us! Dues are $5 per month. Sign up at the garden on Saturday mornings.
  • Stop by from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday to dig, rake, or plant.
  • Post this notice in your house of worship or place of business.
  • Provide refreshments to welcome the Service Day volunteers. All in-kind donations will be recognized at the event.
