Wide Open Bluegrass Festival ~ Sep. 29 & 30

Wide Open Bluegrass is the weekend festival component of IBMA’s weeklong program. Wide Open Bluegrass takes place Friday & Saturday in downtown Raleigh – the ticketed Main Stage is Raleigh’s Red Hat Amphitheater, located across McDowell Street from the back of the Raleigh Convention Center, and the free StreetFest includes 6 music stages, a dance tent, food, shopping and more along and around Fayetteville Street

NC Pride @ Night 2017 ~ Sep. 30

North Carolina’s largest LGBT Parade and Festival celebrating its 32nd year. Join the festivities in two locations: downtown Durham and downtown Raleigh. In Durham, the night festival will be on Rigsbee Ave and in Raleigh, the night festival will be on Harrington Street.

Aquila Theatre Sense & Sensibility ~ Oct. 3

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s death, Aquila Theatre breathes life into one of Austen’s most beloved works in a wildly inventive new production.  Sense and Sensibility poignantly and cleverly illustrates the effects of economic uncertainty and illuminates a world in which choices are extremely limited, especially for women. Though the stakes are high, Austen’s tale is a classic romantic comedy revolving around the lives of two sisters after the untimely and unexpected death of their father.  Seduction, courtship, love, heartbreak, and surprise abound!

 

Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market ~ Oct. 4

Located at City Plaza, the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market is a premier venue for locally grown produce and artisan foods that brings local growers and food artisans together for a Raleigh audience. Avent Ferry Road Corridor Study ~ Oct. 4 & 5

The City of Raleigh welcomes you to a two-day design workshop where you can work with the design team to plan for the future of Avent Ferry Road and the Surrounding area.The Avent Ferry Road Corridor Study will develop a community-generated vision for the character of the corridor’s public realm and adjacent land uses into the future. The information gathered in conjunction with public meetings and other means will provide a framework of data, observations, and community input that will serve as the basis for the study.
