Live It Up! Hillsborough Street has added a free concert at the Louise Stephenson Amphitheatre at the Raleigh Rose Garden on Saturday, September 26 to their already busy weekend of Live & Local: Bluegrass. The event will feature The Shady Grove Band, an internationally recognized quartet from Chapel Hill, and the bluegrass gospel group Damascus Ridge.

Additionally, the full lineup for the previously announced Live & Local: Bluegrass on Hillsborough Street festival has been released and includes a healthy mix of established and rising talents in bluegrass. Lonesome River Band, one of the most respected acts in the genre, headline the main stage on Logan Court while the Grass Cats, who currently hold the #3 album and single on the Bluegrass Unlimited charts, headline the Chamberlain Street stage. The Moore Brothers Band, a young group of rising bluegrass musicians, will be the only act to perform two sets at the festival.

Of the 18 bands performing over the two days, only one has no connection to North Carolina and that is Colorado-based Caribou Mountain Collective, winners of the 2014 RockyGrass Bluegrass Award.

David Dean, event producer, said, “These two events will kick off a week of bluegrass celebrations throughout Raleigh and we invite the community to come experience Hillsborough Street with some of the best music and artisans our state has to offer.”
