February’s First Friday at CAM Raleigh is going to be packed full of unique and interactive programing including after hours access to the galleries, an Artist Talk with artists featured in ID:ENTITY, student docents sharing their unique perspective of the soon-to-be-opened new Born Digital exhibition in the main gallery, a hands-on activity at the creation station, a special valentine-focused Love Post-Office and speed dating program hosted by CAM/now, music, and a cash bar.
Love Post-Office and Speed Dating
Hosted by CAM/now | 6:30-7:30pm and 7:45-8:45pm
CAM/now (CAM Raleigh’s young professionals group) is hosting the best dating mixer of the year with the first ever CAM Raleigh speed-date event. Come get your flirt on! There will be two rounds (6:30-7:30pm and 7:45-8:45pm.) of “speed dating” with an artsy twist. Creative local singles, sign up to participate in an hour-long mixer (with fun get-to-know-you activities) and then leave messages at our First Friday “Love Post Office” for the people you enjoyed meeting. All participants will receive one drink ticket.
Sign up for a speed-dating slot now by emailing [email protected]. All RSVPs must be sent in by Wednesday, February 1 at noon. Hurry and get your slot before this event fills up. And who knows? Maybe you’ll find yourself a fun date just in time for Valentine’s Day! Or at the very least, meet some cool local people who are also interested in art and have a great conversation with someone new.
Couples take note…pass this along to your I-Can’t-Believe-You’re-Still-Single friends and then come with them to the event for moral support. You can browse the galleries and participate in other First Friday events while they mingle.
February 3 First Friday Activities
- Student Docents in the NEW Born Digital exhibition from 6:30–8:30 p.m.
- Creation Station open in the street gallery from 6:30–9:00 p.m.
- ID:ENTITY Artist Talk in the Independent Weekly Gallery at 7:30 p.m.
All activities are included in admission. First Friday admission is $5 and FREE to all members.
