Raleigh’s historic Boylan Heights neighborhood hosts the 19th annual Art Walk event on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from noon to 5pm. A popular holiday event every year, Art Walk takes place throughout Boylan Heights with dozens of front porches and yards converted into mini art galleries and shops. Over 128 artists will be represented at the event including many favorites from previous years alongside 39 new artists this year (more than ever before).

There is something for everyone as artists and craftspeople display and sell handmade and custom goods from glass and metal pieces, jewelry, pottery and ceramics, paintings and drawings, wood, fibers/textiles, clothing and photography. A wonderful selection and representation of all the creativity that our local art scene has to offer. And perfectly in time for all your holiday gift shopping!

Art Walk also boasts a delicious food tent so you can make a whole afternoon outing of it. Enjoy burritos (vegetarian and meat options), homemade chili and soup, wraps, pulled pork, delicious treats from Sweets Raleigh, coffee, hot chocolate and more. Food and beverage sales are cash only.

Bring the whole family and stroll through this friendly and charming neighborhood to get yourself into the festive holiday spirit, while supporting your local businesses and artists. And if you don’t feel like walking, Raleigh Rickshaw will be on hand to give you a ride around.

Boylan Heights is located near downtown  Raleigh (South West) between Hargett Street and Western Blvd. More information on Art Walk can be found online at www.artwalk.boylanheights.org or on the event’s Facebook page.
