There is a special meeting of the University Park Homeowners Association (UPHA) and Wade Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) to discuss two rezoning cases that can impact the future of the community in this area. The meeting will be held at the Jaycee Park Community Center (in the Module), 2405 Wade Avenue on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, 7:00 – 8:45 pm.
Two rezoning cases will come before the City Council July 19th therefore the Wade CAC has joined UPHA to have a special meeting to hear these rezoning cases. This meeting takes the place of the Wade CAC meeting typically on the 4th Tuesday in July. Below is the agenda for the evening.

Proposed: Three parcels located on the south side of Hillsborough Street at Friendly Street would be development as a 3 story building on Hillsborough Street stepping up to as many as 5 stories on the back side, consisting of predominantly commercial/office, possibly some residential.

Proposed: A mixed-use development, predominantly rental units (~250 apartments) would be developed at 401 Oberlin. Development would be a building that is 6 stories facing Oberlin, stepping back (westward) to 5, 4 and 3-stories. Requested rezoning to the “SC” (Shopping Center) designation would give the property the zoning equivalent of Cameron Village Shopping Center. Development includes an enclosed structured parking deck.
- 8:30—CAC Leadership: The Wade CAC is looking for volunteers that would like to take a leadership role in the Wade CAC. Elections are coming up in November.

Thanks for those that attended the Wade CAC/ UPHA combined neighborhood meeting this past Tuesday. Two rezoning requests were presented to the Wade CAC and votes on these proposals were taken. The rezoning requests for Z-12-11 and Z-8-11 will be formally presented at City Council meeting Tuesday 7/19/11 @ 6:30 pm. At this time residents can also comment on the rezonings during the presentation if they desire.
