Reporting crime no matter how small is an important step in preventing future crime and now the City of Raleigh is making it even easier to report small crimes that may or may not require immediate Police Department attention.
The Online Reporting System allows you to fill out an incident report, on your schedule, for six non-emergency crimes:
- damages to property
- damages to vehicles
- harassing phone calls
- lost property
- stolen property and
- thefts from vehicle
All you need is a valid email address.
Once you are done reporting you’ll have a temporary, printable report you can use to communicate with the Crime Reporting Center and an official report number within five business days. The official report can be used for filing an insurance claim. This service will speed up the reporting process and improve the accuracy of reports enabling your Raleigh Police Depart to provide a better service to the public.
You can access the system at:
If the crime you want to report is not one of the six that can be reported with the online system ,you can always reach the Raleigh Police Department via 9-1-1 or for non-emergency incidents, 919-829-1911, if there is no serious personal injury or property loss, no possibility that the suspect is at or likely to return to the scene or an immediate response is not needed.
