There is a special contest happening this winter, Mill as Muse, for artists and photographers around the Triangle. Yates Mill has been an, “artistic inspiration for more than two centuries” according to a recent newsletter published by Wake County. Yates Mill has a vibrant history and draws local artists to capture this history and the beauty of the park in their artwork and photography.
Contestants are encouraged to share their creations by entering the annual art and photo contest. Your entries are due by February 1, 2012. There are youth and adult categories and both the mill and the parks’ nature scenes can be subjects for the entries.
Contest rules can be obtained at the park, on the park’s Facebook page, or at www.wakegov.com/yatesmill. Rules can also be sent by mail upon request.
Good luck with your entries! See the information below about the creative art session before the contest deadline.
