A new race is premiering on the streets and greenways of Southwest Raleigh this Spring, featuring many of the landmarks found throughout Raleigh’s Creative District. The RunRaleigh Half Marathon starts and finishes at Cameron Village and extends to the Walnut Creek Greenway.
RunRaleigh Races is partnering with Capital RunWalk (formerly known as The Athlete’s Foot) in Cameron Village to bring an exciting new half marathon to Raleigh. The race is scheduled for April 15, 2012 and includes a half marathon and 5k.
The half marathon will start at 7:00 am and the 5K will start at 7:30 am. The scenic route will have runners passing by the NC State Bell Tower and the newly renovated Pullen Park along Western Blvd. The route continues with views of the Downtown Raleigh skyline from Martin Luther King Blvd. Runners will enjoy over five miles on the Raleigh Southwest and Southeast Greenways.
The proceeds from this race will benefit the SPCA of Wake County, the Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation, and SWOOP. The RunRaleigh Half Marathon is part of the Second Empire 2012 Grand Prix Series.
