The Saturday MarketSummer is here and the gardens are reaching their pick for produce.  All the hard work of planting in the Spring is paying off with beautiful tomatoes, butter beans, field peas, garlic, broccoli, cucumbers and corn–just to name a few and all are available at The Saturday Market. It’s an undeniably enriching atmosphere with local and sustainable producers on hand to answer all your growing questions.

This week we would like to bring special attention to Bill Hickman of Bill’s Lemon Tahini.  His reputation as an artist is undeniably rich with countless exhibitions but his newest aspiration is to jar and sell his lemon tahini at more local farmer’s markets and food specialty stores.  He has started a Kickstarter campaign and is over the halfway mark.  Please take a moment to watch his video and help Bill fulfill his culinary quest.

The LoMo Market confirmed their commitment to continue the weekly stop in Boylan Heights at The Saturday Market every Saturday from 10:30-1pm. This weekly opportunity offers a delectable experience with both LoMo and foodies creating their own culinary delights.  There are also plenty of opportunities to interact with farmers growing their own produce.

This unique shopping experience is set apart from other stops that LoMo makes by placing the truck within the market’s grounds which include vegetable gardens, chicken coops, and a bee hive located along the walking path.  Encompassing both the selective and consciously aware patron this downtown Raleigh market fully promotes educational awareness for all ages.  Here is a list of vendors on their truck:

  • Coon Rock – Produce
  • Farm Hand Foods – Meats
  • Dock to Door – Seafood
  • Vollmer Farms – Produce
  • Hilltop Farms – Produce
  • Guna’s – Hot sauces
  • Scratch – Baked goods
  • Elodie – Cheeses, eggs
  • Sarah Cecilias Good Food – Dumplings
  • Latta Farms – Eggs
  • Triangle Raw Foods

The Saturday Market also offer donation yoga every Saturday from 10-11am. The food truck for June 23rd is Klausie’s Pizza and we also have Crumb joining us with their creative food creations.

The Saturday Market

Rebus Works gallery, located next to the Boylan Street Bridge, downtown Raleigh, began The Saturday Market at Rebus Works in April.  The market continues weekly through November.  The idea is to combine farmers, crafters, and food and beverage trucks in one location.  Although the idea is not new, it is new to Raleigh.  The Saturday Market offers a unique setting where vendors are set up along a meandering path, past the chicken coop and gardens, right in the heart of downtown Raleigh.

The Saturday Market is located at 301-2 Kinsey Street, (next to the Boylan Street Bridge) Raleigh, NC and is open every Saturday from 9-2pm and will continue through November 17.
