This Saturday, October 13, the Glenwood South Global Fare is shutting down Glenwood from noon until 6pm between Tucker and West Lane Street for a free, giant festival highlighting the business and arts culture of Glenwood South.

Sponsored by Pepsiperformers, Radio 96.1, the Raleigh Downtowner, Yelp, and Harris-Robinette Beef, this family-friendly event features live performances (including belly dancers, bands, live painting installations), a children’s zone, vendor tents, free Pepsi promotional giveaways, and an Iron Chef competition, where some of the best chefs of Glenwood South will go pan to pan in an epic culinary battle-royale.

Although the event is free to the public, foodies can score one of only 20 remaining judging spots for the culinary Iron Chef restaurant competition here. Tickets are $10 for two culinary creations from Krave & Tobacco Road, or Zely & Ritz and Sullivan’s Steakhouse, so grab yours before the last plates are sold out!

Want to get more involved? We are still in need of a few dozen event volunteers! Sign-up for a day-of volunteer shift, and refer the most friends for a chance to score free Iron Chef judging tickets. Promote the following link to your friends and make sure they list you as the referrer to win the passes because volunteering is always more fun with a friend!

A joint effort between the Glenwood South Merchants Association, Downtown Raleigh Alliance, and Legacy Event Planners, this festival provides an opportunity for Raleigh residents to enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of Glenwood South while supporting the locally owned and operated merchant businesses throughout the street.
