If you’ve travelled to other cities that have more comprehensive transit services, you may wonder if Raleigh and the Triangle region is ever going to  have these opportunities. You can provide input to the future of the Triangle’s rail and expanded bus service by attending a one of several public workshops hosted by the Triangle Transit Authority (TTA) over the next few weeks.

One of the meetings will be in Southwest Raleigh on Wednesday, March 30, at the McKimmon Conference Center from 4 pm to 7 pm.

TTA has announced the schedule for the last series of public workshops that provide Triangle residents with an opportunity to speak to the alternative analysis process as part of the Triangle Regional Transit Program (TRTP). The TRTP includes proposed options for rail and expanded bus service in the region. The workshops are part of a federally prescribed alternatives analysis required by the Federal Transit Administration.

The series of seven workshops in Wake, Durham and Orange counties will start in Raleigh on March 22. There are three Raleigh dates. The schedule is as follows:

  • RALEIGH – Tuesday, March 22, Triangle Town Center, first floor next to Dillard’s, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.;
  • DURHAM – Wednesday, March 23, Durham Station Transportation Center, 515 W. Pettigrew St., 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.;
  • CHAPEL HILL – Thursday, March 24, Friday Center, Redbud Room, 100 Friday Center Dr., 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.;
  • RALEIGH – Monday, March 28, Mt. Peace Baptist Church, 1601 MLK Jr. Blvd. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.;
  • CARY – Tuesday, March 29, Bond Park Senior Center, 120 Maury O’Dell Place off High House Road, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.;
  • RALEIGH – Wednesday, March 30, McKimmon Conference Center, NCSU, 1101 Gorman St., 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and,
  • RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Thursday, March 31, Research Triangle Park Foundation, 6 Davis Dr., 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
