We’ve talked previously about the PROP and rental registration, but what if you’re a new landlord, real estate agent, or property manager? Do you need a refresher on all the updates from the City of Raleigh? The landlord training program offered by the City could be just the thing you need to strengthen your lease agreements or learn how to screen applicants. See the following information for more details.
The City of Raleigh’s next landlord training class takes place Wednesday, March 23 2011. The class provides important information for property owners and managers, real estate agents, lawyers, and others who are interested in issues relating to rental property.
The class will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Raleigh Housing Authority’s multi-purpose community room, 971 Harp St. Enrollment will be capped at 50, so register now. [PDF]
Lawyers who take the class can receive six hours of continuing education credits from the North Carolina State Bar. Real estate agents receive four credit hours from the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.
Improve your skills and knowledge of how to screen rental applicants, strengthen rental agreements and take legal steps to resolve problems. The class also covers the federal Housing Choice Voucher Program and the role of the City Police, Inspections and Community Services departments, among other topics.
