Bike to WorkBreak out your bicycle and helmet and make plans to be at the State Fairgrounds by 7:30 a.m. on Friday, May 20 for the “Got to Ride NC” Bike to Work Day. Join fellow cyclists to bring awareness to bicycling as a valid form of transportation by riding from the State Fairgrounds to the State Capital. The ride will start at Gate 9 of the Fairgrounds and end at the Capitol where breakfast and vendor demonstrations will be set up.

The 4-mile route will include rolling street closures to support safety and maintain a moderate pace suitable for all experience levels. Speakers, vendors and exhibits will be waiting at the State Capital and will be set up until 10 a.m.  Registration is required.

The event is part of the SmartCommute Challenge, which encourages Triangle commuters to try an alternative commute (not driving alone) to work such as riding the bus, carpooling, vanpooling, teleworking, biking, or walking.

And at the end of the day, make plans to return to the Fairgrounds for the opening day of the Got to Be NC Festival, which offers free gate admission and lots of family fun!
