By now, you’ve marked your calendars for May 20-22 and made plans to be at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh for the fourth annual Got to be NC Festival.
To help you plan your trip, here’s a sneak peak at what’s new this year:
- Free Grandstand events every day, including the new Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, and Border Collie herding demonstrations.
- In the Jim Graham Building you’ll find the Carolina FiberFest which has doubled in size, along with dozens of commercial exhibitors and a new Community Stage showcasing local talent.
- The Got to Be NC Food & Wine Expo in the Expo Center will feature dozens of North Carolina companies, and for $2 visitors will receive a sheet of coupons that are good towards many of the delicious products on display at the Expo.
- The new AgriPlaza, located between the Graham Building and the Expo Center, is where you’ll find the Kids Corral, and a variety of animals on display including a longhorn steer, alpacas and dairy goats.
- Dorton Arena will house the Classic Car Show on Friday, Carolina Rollergirls Got to Be NC Derby Expo on Saturday, and the FIRST Robotics competition on Sunday.
And of course, the Festival will feature a full carnival, a daily tractor parade and more than 1,000 pieces of antique farm equipment on display, and free, live music on the Dorton Triangle Stage.
If your calendars weren’t marked before, we hope you’ll clear your schedule to make room for lots of family fun, North Carolina style!
