The William Bunn Preparatory School, along with N.C. State University Athletics, announced The Pink Diamond Classic – a softball game and homerun derby benefiting the Kay Yow Foundation.
The game will begin at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 31 at Curtis Jacqueline Dail Softball Stadium, 2481 Cates Ave., on NC State’s campus.
Raleigh police officers and firefighters will team up against the King and His Court – the world’s premier four-man softball team. The police officers and fireman will have the honor of being managed by Bucky Dent – longtime member of the N.Y. Yankees and the MVP of the 1978 World Series.
The Pink Diamond Classic will be the last North Carolina game for the King and His Court – a team that has played more than 13,000 games in 100 countries during the past 65 years.
Attendance and parking will be free. Contributions to the Kay Yow Foundation will be accepted at the gate.
