raleigh70.3_logoThe Ironman 70.3 Raleigh competition takes place Sunday, June 2, 2013 with a large portion of the event happening in the Creative District.  The swim begins at Jordan Lake, continues with a bike ride through Chatham and Wake counties, and finishes with a run through southwest Raleigh that ends on Fayetteville St.  Even though the competition is sold out there are still some volunteer opportunities available and important road closure announcements.

Volunteer

Running an Ironman event that includes a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, and 13.1 mile run across two counties requires a lot of coordination.  There are several chances to volunteer with the race throughout the week – packet stuffing, bike course assistance, gear bag check-in, run course aid and more.  To learn more about the ways to volunteer or to bring a group to volunteer, visit http://www.ironman.com/triathlon/events/ironman-70.3/raleigh/volunteer.aspx#axzz2Uc039RCF.
