Lake Johnson Park is a prime example of the great parks we have in south west Raleigh. The park sets the tone for why Raleigh is often referred to as “the city within a park.”
I personally love to visit Lake Johnson. In a typical week, I’ll run on the greenways at least twice–and more often when I’m training for a race. It’s a good 3 mile loop around the lake now that the by-pass greenway is open.
Over the last few months, you may have noticed some construction at the park. I decided to catch up with Mark Elmore, Lake Johnson Park Manager, and find out what’s the latest with Lake Jonhson Park. Not only was I curious about the current construction, but I also wanted to find out how to get involved with the Master Planning process for future additions to the park.
