Join over 100 open source enthusiast on Saturday, February 9 in Engineering Building 2 (EB2) on NCSU’s Centennial Campus for the 2013 FOSS Fair.
The Free and open source software (FOSS) day is an unconference style event similar to BarCamp. An unconference is a participant-driven event where organizers plan the time, place, and other logistics, while the participants determine the agenda. Typically, attendees show up prepared not only to learn, but to share their knowledge.
Think of the FOSS Fair as a specialized BarCamp for open source. The presentations are driven and delivered by the participants. Any topic relating to free and open source software can be presented. FOSS Fair brings together open source advocates in a very casual setting, allowing participates to share their knowledge and passion.
So come prepared to learn, but also to participate. If you’re interested in giving a talk sign up on the wiki page and be prepared to pitch your idea at 9:00 am.
