astro5There is a new conference coming to town. The spotlight on All Things Open has a great speaker line-up with well-known open source experts descending upon Raleigh, the open source city, on October 23-24, 2013.

Early Bird registration for All Things Open was recently opened, but it won’t last long. And if you’re a student interested in open source, you can attend for a very reasonable rate compared to other conferences of this quality—but you must act now. Don’t want for the fall semester to start, get on this early.

There’s a great back story to this. The folks putting on All Things Open have successfully run the Palmetto Open Source Software Conference (POSSCON) in Columbia, SC, for several years. One of the conference organizers was at the SouthEast LinuxFest (SELF) two years ago in Charlotte, NC, at a session where I was presenting. I mentioned wanting to attract a major open source conference to Raleigh. We talked afterwards about the possibilities.

Since then, I talked about bringing an open source conference to Raleigh in my book, and worked behind the scenes to connect the organizers to the right folks in Raleigh. And now, it’s coming. But it won’t be successful without your support.

Check out All Things Open and reserve your spot today. While September will pass in the blink of an eye, October will be here before you know it.
