The Raleigh Parks and Recreation department published the latest Leisure Ledger a few weeks ago. It details the upcoming park programs, special events, and facility information for all ages during the months of January – April 2012. You can find the published booklet at community centers and other staffed parks or online. Here are a few programs and events happening in Southwest Raleigh this Winter and early Spring:
- Feb 6 – Mar 12: Pottery at Pullen Arts Center (ages 12-16, $90, 4-6:30pm)
- Feb 20 – Mar 26: Photography at Pullen Arts Center (age 16+, $75, 7-9pm)
- Mid Mar – May: Sand Volleyball League at Jaycee Park (age 18+, $50/team)
- Mar 17: Spring Baseball Clinic at Carolina Pines Community Center (ages 5-14, free, 10am-1pm)
- Mar 31: Egg Hunt at Pullen Park (up to age 10, free, 11am-12:30pm)
- Apr 14: Bass Fishing Tournament at Lake Johnson (age 16+, $70, 6am-1:30pm)
- Parent/Child Swimming Lessons at Pullen Aquatic Center (various dates/times, ages, and fees)
- Arts & Crafts for Preschoolers at Jaycee Community Center (various dates, ages 3-5, $32, 3-3:45pm)
- Musical Games at Method Park (various dates, ages 3-5, $7, 10:30-11:30am)
- Cake Decorating at Powell Dr Park (various dates, ages 12+, $30, 11am-2pm)
- Fitness Boot Camp at Lake Johnson (various dates/times, ages 18-90, $80)
