Learn, listen, and laugh at the 7th Annual Fall Harvest Celebration at Historic Yates Mill County Park! Take a step back in time and enjoy some harvest-time traditions at the Fall Harvest Celebration at Historic Yates Mill County Park on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 11am – 3pm.

Learn from craftsman about blacksmithing, wood carving, soap making, and basket weaving, just to name a few.  Listen to drummers, storytellers, and dancers as different performers fill the park with music and song that day.  And laugh with others as you partake in fun games such as corn cob darts, cane pole fishing, three-legged races, and pumpkin bowling.

In addition to the games, live music, and featured artisans, the mill will be open for corn-grinding demonstrations from 10am-12pm and 1-4pm for a behind-the-scenes tour of the mill.  There are small fees associated with this tour: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (60+), $3 for children (ages 7-16), children under 7 are FREE.  There will also be a Cornmeal Cookoff Contest with prizes awarded to the top three recipes in the Adult and Youth categories.  All entry forms must be received by 11am on Saturday, September 15.
