A special edition of our Parks in the Creative District series invites you to a full day of urban, outdoor fun and fitness during the Festival in Motion event on Saturday, September 29 that spans the Walnut Creekway Greenway at four different locations. Whether you volunteer at Lake Johnson Park, attend the soccer clinic at Eliza Pool Park, participate in the 5k run or scavenger hunt at Walnut Creek Wetland Center, or meet with neighbors at the Ralph Campbell Community Center, the event will showcase Raleigh’s natural spaces.
The Festival in Motion was founded and is supported by the Triangle Greenways Council, Friends of Lake Johnson, Partners for Environmental Justice, and the Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department. There is great community support for this event based on the dozens of generous sponsors lined up. New this year is the Urban Wetland 5k and Kids 100-yard dash.
