Do you love all that the Historic Yates Mill County Park has to offer that you want to submit your original artwork or photography inspired by the park? Historic Yates Mill County Park is having their 7th annual “Mill as Muse” Art and Photography Contests. The contests will feature art and photography influenced by the mill, the park, and people enjoying the park. Entries are being accepted now through Sunday, Feb. 3rd.
There will be two contest categories for Visual Art (Yates Mill, nature in the park) and three contest categories for Photography (Yates Mill, people doing park activities, park flora and fauna). There is an adult and youth (ages 13 and under) division within each category so everyone (professionals and amateurs) is encouraged to enter. Prizes will awarded for each category and adult and youth submissions will be judged separately. Prizes will also be awarded for Best in Show Art and Best in Show Photo. A reception will be held on Saturday, February 9 from 2-4pm at the A.E. Finley Center for Education and Research to announce the contest winners.

Sun., Feb 3 to Historic Yates Mill County Park - Original artwork can be in many forms (paintings, drawings, etchings, mixed media, collages, other media)
- Photography must be submitted as prints only; black and white and color photos will be judged together
- Artwork must feature the mill or nature in the park
- Photos must feature the mill, nature in the park or people in the park
- Adults and youth (ages 13 and under) will be judged separately
- Professionals and amateurs are welcome to participate
- Reception to announce winners will be Sat., Feb 9 from 2-4pm
