    • Planning for 2012 – What do you want for your community watch?

Our potluck starts at 6:30 pm, feel free to bring a dish to share or if you rather not cook…a bag of chips, cookies, or soft drinks are always welcome. If a potluck is not your cup of tea, the meeting portion will start at 7:00 pm. If you need to bring your children we have an area that they may play quietly with supervision.

There has been a recent change in officers. Charles Tew is our new president. He has lived in the area for four years and has been active in our neighborhood group for two years.  He is a life-long resident of Wake County, a graduate of NC State with degrees in Economics and Business Management, former Air Force Transportation Officer, and presently works for NCDOT Rail Division’s Engineering & Safety Branch. He’s worked for 22 years at NCDOT and was previously with the Statewide Planning Branch. He has one son and one step-daughter.

This year’s goal for Tew are to complete the transition of our team and to increase neighborhood participation with the community watch—with emphasis on filling the remaining leadership positions and find more efficient methods to notify the neighborhood of the organizations activities and concerns.

Beth Beauchamp is the new Vice President and has also taken over as treasurer until a new officer can be found. (If you are interested, please let us know at the meeting.) She has lived in the area for six years and has been active with the neighborhood watch since last year. She has four children, two boys and two girls. She also has one grandson that lives in Germany and a granddaughter that lives in Zebulon.

Beauchamp’s goals for this year are to make meetings more productive and to have more fun events for the neighborhood. She is also looking at fundraising opportunities for the organization.

Patricia Brezny is our secretary, she does such a great job, and we won’t let her leave office. She has been part of the community watch for a number of years and has been active in our community.

For more information and to see if you’re a resident in this community watch, check out our website at www.prr-watch.org. The Pleasant Ridge & Ramsgate community is located South of the Farmer’s Market in Raleigh’s Creative District and has 420 homes in the watch area.

We hope to see you there.
