Neil Loughlin: Undercurrent

Neil Loughlin: Undercurrent

Rebus Works is pleased to present Little Washington, NC artist Neil Loughlin in the gallery. The exhibition will run through February 25 during the gallery hours of Tuesday through Friday, 11-6pm and Saturdays, 1-4pm.

His photographs illustrate the wonder of the dream-like settings we see in our minds, be it completely mysterious or just a slight derivation from the familiar. Through his artistic process Loughlin layers positives of real-life places atop one another to create a mystical, if sometimes cinematic, association.

“I create each of my photographs as though a painter with a brush. Transforming the world as we know it into one full of mystery and splendor. A place where the imagination becomes lost in the enchanting bokeh floating across the image’s horizon. Though each photograph is unique and original in form and process, it feels as if it were an obscure memory created in the mind of the viewer.” – Neil Loughlin
