Fall is in the air and it’s time to buy all those wonderful pumpkins and squashes. It’s also time for Gumbo. We going to make up a batch for the market using Liberty Poultry chicken, Farmhand Foods sausage, and Tiny Farm’s okra. Posh Nosh Catering was kind enough to share their recipe so stop by for a taste!
We would also like to announce that The Farmery has only a few days left in it’s Kick Starter campaign. Please take a minute to look at this amazing design and forward thinking model of what could be the next way to buy local produce. This North Carolina company is collecting interest from all over the world with people who are ready for a real food revolution. Look them up on the web then go to their current campaign and help out with a pledge. Below is a model of what could plausible be the answer to Raleigh’s need for a downtown grocery store. They are typically at The Saturday Market and now have “growing walls” and “mushroom bags” for sale along with the freshest and cleanest lettuce and herbs in town.
The LoMo has made The Saturday Market a regular stop. They are now carrying a large variety of leafy green vegetables, fresh seafood, chicken, and sausage. The addition of dairy products such as milk and baked goods are making them a valuable source of gathering local goods and distributing them to the people.

What is The Saturday Market?
Rebus Works gallery, located next to the Boylan Street Bridge, downtown Raleigh, began The Saturday Market at Rebus Works in April 2011. The market continues weekly through November. The idea is to combine farmers, crafters, and food and beverage trucks in one location. Although the idea is not new, it is new to Raleigh. The Saturday Market offers a unique setting where vendors are set up along a meandering path, past the chicken coop and gardens, right in the heart of downtown Raleigh.
The Saturday Market is located at 301-2 Kinsey Street, (next to the Boylan Street Bridge) Raleigh, NC and is open every Saturday from 9-1pm and will continue through November 17.
