Hello citizens of Raleigh. If you happen to discover southwestraleigh.com before January 2011, we’re glad you found us. We’re working on the site, preparing content, and getting ready to bring you the pulse of South West Raleigh starting in 2011.

This site is for all citizens and people interested in Raleigh, but the focus will be on South West Raleigh. If you’re looking at a map, the area (or quadrant) we’re focusing on is between Wade Avenue and South Wilmington Street. Think about it like a slice of pie.

The vision for the site is to highlight what’s happening in South West Raleigh and to make connections with residents, businesses, institutions, government, and others.

We’ve grabbed a few existing blog posts to help get things going. They should give you a taste of what you can expect to see more of in the future. Our intention is to provide practical, fact-based information, sprinkled with opinions on topics of interest to the South West Raleigh area.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be adding things to the site so that it’s clear what type of topics we’re interested in, what type of content we’ll be posting, and how you can participate.

In the spirit of release early and release often, as of this writing, we have a vanilla WordPress installation. We’re looking to add a theme and get some social media going. The most important thing is to get a publishing calendar going. It’s in the works.

What else is there? Oh yeah, we haven’t forgotten about you. Your participation and contributions are critical. Tell us your initial thoughts and share what type of things you’d like to see here. Use the comments to provide feedback.
