The Southwest Citizens Advisory Council (SWCAC) is ready to learn about wiki, specifically, the Triangle Wiki. The SWCAC will host its monthly meeting on March 12, 2012, at Peach Road Park Community Center. Attendees will be asked to share what is happening in their community and will hear reports from the Raleigh Police Department, and Parks and Recreation. This will also be my last meeting leading the group. I announced that I would step down as the chair in April 2012 during our January meeting. This is a great opportunity for someone to lead the SWCAC into new territory.

There are several items slotted for new business, including:

  • Raleigh’s Creative District Wiki Day – Neighborhood leaders from the Creative District are looking for volunteers to help document the history, assets, and knowledge from Southwest Raleigh. We are tentatively planning a content day on March 17 (morning) to add pages and knowledge to trianglewiki.org. Final details of the event are still being worked out. Look for a post later this week on southwestraleigh.com for final event info.
  • Raleigh Innovation Summit meetup on March 13 at the PNC Bank Building, Downtown Raleigh, space is limited so RSVP.

During the meeting, the nominating committee for SWCAC will present a slate of officers and accept nominations from the floor. The committee will then finlize the candidates for a final vote in April 2012. Anyone who is interested in serving as an officer for SWCAC should contact Mary Belle Pate or attend the March meeting to be considered.

The feature presentation is What is Triangle Wiki? You may have already heard the buzz about Triangle Wiki. But what is it? No, really, what’s a wiki? We will learn about what the Triangle Wiki is, what happened at Triangle Wiki Day, and how the SWCAC can get involved.

Join the SWCAC Google Group to get updates between monthly meetings. The meeting this month will be held on March 12, 2012, at 7:00 pm, at Peach Road Community Center, 911 Ileagnes Road, Raleigh, NC 27603.
