Method Road Fall Festival ~ Oct. 27

The Method Community Center is hosting it’s annual Fall Festival on October 27 from 5-7 p.m. This event is for ages 6-11. Activities include carnival games, video gaming, healthy treat bags and a music DJ. Join the fun for a SPOOKtacular family event – costumes welcome! This event is free to the public.

Skywatching in Dorothea Dix Park ~ Oct. 28

Join staff and volunteers from the Morehead Planetarium & Science Center, Chapel Hill Astronomical and Observational Society and Raleigh Astronomy Club for a free skywatching program at Dorothea Dix Park! Telescopes will be set up to view stars and the moon. Look up at the night sky as educators guide you through fun observations of stars, planets, moons, nebulae and other celestial objects!


NCMA: Runway Fashion Show and Dance Party ~ Oct. 28

Runway show of juried designs by 13 emerging designers from four North Carolina universities. Fashions in the show are inspired by concepts in NCMA’s new exhibition, Inspiring Beauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair, such as the power of color, innovative materials, and body positivity. Raleigh’s style icon and rapper-musician Zensofly DJs and performs a short set. After the show and awards, it’s your turn to take the dance floor and walk through the exhibition. Dress to impress! Cash bar and snacks.

Halloween Parade ~ Oct. 31

A free day full of costumes, crafts, treats and a Halloween Parade, led by Kristin Cooper, First Lady of North Carolina.

Come in costume and participate in fun “Halloween-y” crafts. Crafts will take place from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

The Halloween Parade will begin at 2 p.m., at the top of Bicentennial Plaza (between the North Carolina Museum of History and North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences).

A Shopping Spree! ~ November 1 – 5

A Shopping SPREE! – a Raleigh tradition for over 30 years – is considered the area’s premier and most original shopping event.  This annual four-day shopping fundraiser showcases regional and national exhibitors for shoppers seeking the latest in fashion and home decor trends, unique gifts and holiday merchandise. This is a juried event ensuring a well-balanced selection of products and quality merchandise.
