There is a meeting of the South West Citizens Advisory Council (SWCAC) on, May 9, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Carolina Pines Community Center, 2305 Lake Wheeler Road.

Public Utilities Director John Carman will provide a departmental overview and tell us about aging water pipes, our water supply, re-use water, and much more.

Transportation planning will provide an overview of all the sidewalk projects in SWCAC.

Tabitha Underwood (PhD) will present on an idea to create a neighborhood store. The purpose of the free store is to address three community needs including poverty assistance, waste reduction, and enhancement of social capital. This project will be in place to support individuals, organizations, and communities through offering the exchange of free items and community building endeavors.
