There are a ton of fabulous artist, music and food this Saturday, September 8th at Rebus Works. The Saturday Market is continuing to create ties within the community, so come on out and see the impact we’re having.
Rebus Works will be hosting Shopscotch along with Minus Sound Research 7 art opening and first day show. Activities start at 9am with The Saturday Market and will seamlessly transition into our day show which starts at noon and ends at 5pm. In typical Rebus fashion we’ll be pulling out all the stops to make this the best Shopscotch, MSR7 (visual art by local and national musicians), and day show possible.
The Saturday Market has an amazing selection of fresh fruits, veggies, meat, seafood, flowers and baked goods weekly. This week our special guests are Elemental Chocolate and The Carolina Bee Company along with all our regular vendors.
Inside Rebus Works there are eight musicians who make artwork that will be showing on our gallery wall. The artist include: Jad Fair (Half Japanese), Patrick Jeffords (Toro y Moi), Annie Chu (Organos), Chris Millstein (Psychic Ills), Maria Albani (Organos), Vince Carmody (Strange), John Harrison (North Elementary), Todd Emmert (Inspector 22)
The bands playing in the Day Show will be The Good Graces, Prisms, Le Weekend, Robes, Waumiss, and Boykiller.
Shopscotch, lead by Caitlin Cary, will feature 21 of the hippest artist selling their handmade goods from around the area:
The Vintage Bee, Julie Armbruster, Woodcrafty, Maranda Kiser, Martian Creations, Zepol Bag, Creative Wares by Val, Sissy & Jades, Tiffany Coley Artisan Jewelry, Snowbird Vintage, Ara Leigh Studios, Caitlin Cary, Threadstock, Shira Samaniego, Wear in the Triangle, Janet Link, Allison Dahle, Yumi Okita, Bordeaux Lane Studio, Bunnies in Crowds, Good Girls Studio, Zass Designs and House of Swank Clothing.
Food trucks including Humble Pig, Triangle Raw Foods, Big Mike BBQ, Captain Poncho’s Tacos, Chick-n-Que and Klausie’s Pizza and there will be plenty of suds to wet your whistle. On tap is Big Boss’s Angry Angel, LoneRider’s Sweet Josie and PBR. There will plenty of cold cans of Modelo Especial, Sir Perry’s Cider and Mother Earth’s Second Wind.
Farm 2 Your Table will be dishing out delicious and unique cakes, cookies, tiramisu, banana pudding, and eclairs and Locopops will cool everyone down at Shopscotch!
We are also extremely honored to have Counter Culture Coffee as a sponsor for the MRS7 art opening. Counter Culture will also have a booth at Shopscotch.

What is The Saturday Market?
Rebus Works gallery, located next to the Boylan Street Bridge, downtown Raleigh, began The Saturday Market at Rebus Works in April 2011. The market continues weekly through November. The idea is to combine farmers, crafters, and food and beverage trucks in one location. Although the idea is not new, it is new to Raleigh. The Saturday Market offers a unique setting where vendors are set up along a meandering path, past the chicken coop and gardens, right in the heart of downtown Raleigh.
The Saturday Market is located at 301-2 Kinsey Street, (next to the Boylan Street Bridge) Raleigh, NC and is open every Saturday from 9-1pm and will continue through November 17.
