Some of you may already be aware of these upcoming events within the Hillsborough area of the Southwest Police District, but I wanted to ensure you had the specific details. The following events are concentrated in the Hillsborough Street area and will impact traffic on the dates and times detailed below:
- Saturday 10/29/11 – (unofficial event) Hillsborough Street Halloween Hike by NCSU students – usually 9pm through approximately 2:30am. Mostly pedestrian traffic on Hillsborough between Pullen and Dixie; vehicular traffic usually not encumbered.
- Sunday 10/30/11 – Monster Dash 5k – 2pm through approximately 3:30pm. Race route:
- Assemble in the 2000 block of Clark Ave.
- Proceed west to Oberlin Rd
- Right on Oberlin Road to Davis Dr
- U-turn and reverse route to start/finish line
- Saturday 11/5/11 – Pancreatic 5K – 9:30am through approximately 10:30 pm. Race route:
- Start at St. Mary’s and Nichols
- Proceed south on St. Mary’s to Peace St.
- Right on Peace St and merge onto Clark Ave
- U-turn at approximately Gardner (at the ½ point)
- Proceed east on Clark Ave.
- Left on St. Mary’s
- Right on Nichols
- Right on Washington
- Finish in Fletcher Park
- Sunday, 11/6/11 – City of Oaks Marathon – 7am – 2pm

- Friday 11/18/11 – NCSU Homecoming Parade – 5:45pm through approximately 730pm. Route:
- NCSU campus, north on Dan Allen to Hillsborough
- East on Hillsborough to Pullen
- South on Pullen to Dunn (NCSU)
- Dunn/ Jeter / Cates (all NCSU property)
- Sunday 11/20/11 – Neighborhood Street Art Festival – 12pm through 5pm. This will only affected a small portion of Dixie Trail, which will be closed between Lewis Farm and Medlin Drive.
