Inspired by the rich gaming industry here in the Triangle us Urban Gardeners decided to explore the art and psychology of game play. A group of like minded people came together: fine artists, film makers, game designers, writers, and actors. Over the course of two months we designed a framework for performance that lets the audience create and control the play through various game mechanics.

Now we want to bring together an audience to play our game!

Who are we? Urban Garden’s mission is to bring together artists from different disciplines to create unique performance based events that draw diverse local audiences. This one, being game inspired, has the audience drawing cards that both advance the plot of the performance as well as introduce a game play element that the audience, as players must resolve. If they fail to overcome the game challenge then a penalty is drawn that the performers must take upon themselves for the rest of the game.

We have some incredible people involved with The Game(ing) show: [http://www.facebook.com/events/155054434639802/] Tim Randall(game designer), Richard Butner(actor and writer), Jason Bailey(actor), John Kantz(poster art), Alice Turner(actor), Mary Forrester(actor), PJ Maske(director) Drew Martin(filmmaker), Oliva Griego (actor/director), Lisa Wood(artist), Mollie Earls(artist), Manning Pruden(artist), Evan Mitchell(movement specialist), Amber Wood(writer), Jon Haas(video editor), Kieran Moreira(filmmaker), Paul Kilpatrick(actor/producer), Jeff Buckner(actor).
