The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department is in the middle of developing a new System Plan to help shape the city’s parks, greenways and programs over the next 20 years. The next step in the process is to shape the goals, policies, and objectives for the future of the parks with Visioning Sessions and they want to hear your input.
The Visioning Sessions are a week-long series of events that begin with a social Kick-Off Event on Monday, May 13 (6pm-8pm) and end with an Open House showcasing the results of the sessions on Friday, May 17 (3:30pm-6:30pm). Here’s a schedule of the various sessions and events throughout the week.
- Monday, May 13 – Outdoor Adventures, Sustainability, Kick-Off Event
- Tuesday, May 14 – Arts, Natural Areas, Special Populations, Greenways & Trails, Athletic & Aquatic Special Use Venues, Equity & Existing Parks
- Wednesday, May 15 – Community Health & Fitness, Urban Population & Growth Centers, Historic Resources, Multiculturalism
- Thursday, May 16 – Active Adults, Parks & Transportation, Education: Youth & Teen
- Friday, May 17 – Open House
