The City of Raleigh is looking to coordinate the volunteer effort to clean-up debris left from the storms that came through over the weekend.
Severe weather came through the area and left unthinkable destruction across many parts of Raleigh and North Carolina. I was about a mile from the tornado that ripped through Caraleigh, South Saunders Street, and eventually, downtown Raleigh.
Once power was restored at our home and I started getting caught up on email and social media, I realized that the storms may have destoyed some of our homes and businesses, but not our sense of community. People are still coming together to help out. It’s reminiscent of Hurricane Fran if you remember the impact that storm had on Raleigh.
If you want to help out, the City of Raleigh has put together a survey to gather information from those willing to volunteer. If you have the time to help our communities and the city with the clean-up effort, sign-up at: www.surveymonkey.com/s/stormvolunteer. below.
Update 4/29
