There is a meeting of the Wade Citizens Advisory Council this Tuesday, January 24, 2012. The meeting starts at 7:30pm and will be held at Jaycee Park Community Center (in the Module), 2405 Wade Avenue, Raleigh, NC.

The agenda includes a Parks & Recreation deptartment report from Dan Bacon, updates from the Raleigh Public Record and the Community Partnership group at Meredith College, and a Raleigh Police Department report from  Officer Upchurch.

The feature discussion for the evening includes Officer Upchurch and Community Officer Alexander. They will be discussing safety and security in our homes and neighborhoods. Here is a brief desription of the discussion from the Wade CAC newsletter:

Being secure and safe in our homes and neighborhoods is a vital part of our quality of life in our CAC. Officer Upchurch and Community Officer Alexander will facilitate a dialogue taking our questions and hearing our concerns and helping us focus on how we can become more involved, the actions we can take, city programs available (community watch), information and communication sharing, etc. – all of which can help create a safer and more secure community.

After the discussion, Wade CAC will begin the discussion for electing new officers. A nomination committee consisting of Mike Rieder, Emily Biggs, Mark Sullivan, and Mary Jane Clark has been formed to take nominations for the Wade CAC leadership positions. The Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson positions will need to be filled. The group plans to hold their election at the March or May meeting.
