With the reopening of Carolina Pines Community Center (2305 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh, NC), the Wado Ryu karate class will be moving back to the Southwest Raleigh area! Our first tentative class is June 5th (correction) June 12th at 6:30PM, so feel free to come out to the newly opened Carolina Pines to watch. In addition to our existing adult class (ages 16+) there is a new kids karate class available for ages 8 to 16. Parents are welcome to attend with their children. The new classes will be from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Depending on volume, we may also have a class from 7:30 to 8:30 pm.
Come out to watch or to participate for a free week (two classes) to see if you like it before paying. If you want to join in, just wear loose workout clothes. The monthly rate is $40 for addresses inside Raleigh and $52 for addresses outside. Contact me if you are interested to reserve a space in either class. I will have about 15 spaces per class.
I teach a traditional Wado Ryu style, focusing on efficient movement. We cover basic movement, forms, bag work, and controlled contact sparring at later belt ranks. I have almost 10 years of experience in the discipline and 4-and-a-half years of teaching experience. Karate is good for your body and mind, and is a good way to get rid of stress.
