This has been a great week and now its time to enjoy the weekend. Check out some things that are going on in Raleigh’s Creative District and get out there and enjoy!

1. NSCU is celebrating it’s 125th Birthday this week. As part of that, there is a History Symposium tomorrow, 3/31: You’re invited to join NC State’s History department as it celebrates 75 years of history at NC State. The day’s events will include two keynote lectures, “What Historians Do All Day” by Scott Reynolds Nelson and “The Democratic Potential of Public History in a Multiracial Society” by Claudrena N. Harold; alumni and faculty panel discussions and much more. Free and open to public.

2. The College of Design is about to have its very popular “Art to Wear” event in the coming 2 weeks. As a kickoff to this great event, they are host a Fashion Walk on Hillsborough Street Saturday Afternoon from 2-6:30pm. The event will start at Sadlacks and will parade down the street in full regalia down to East Village where there will be a fashion show, awards, prizes and Live music by the Hot Damn Blues Band. While the event is free, an admission ticket will be required if you want to win any of the great prizes. All proceeds of the tickets will go to the scholarship fund.

3. The Raleigh Relays – one of the Premier Outdoor Track & Field meets in the Eastern U.S. is happening this Friday and Saturday. Come see some of the very best college runners compete in various events as well as some Professional Athletes in select races. Admission is Free and the Meet is held all day Friday and Saturday.

4. Easter is fast approaching – come celebrate with a Childrens Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday at Laurel Hills Park. This event is sponsored by The City of Raleigh Communities and is a great event for kids.

5. Check out the Public Art in Downtown Raleigh! Best Raleigh has unveiled a new work – a transformation of the front of the Old Raleigh Sandwich Shop. Come check it out on Friday and stop by the Busy Bee for their fundraiser and learn more about this very Creative Project.
