The Saturday Market highlights for Saturday May 12, 2012

The Saturday MarketThe Saturday Market which runs every Saturday till November 17th is located in Boylan Heights next tot he Boylan bridge and is continuing to create ties within the community.  It’s an undeniably enriching atmosphere with local and sustainable produce, such as fresh fruit, vegetables, and seafood.

Along with gathering up your greens for the week we’ll also have plenty of food to eat at the market.  The Saturday Market is a great place to come for breakfast and stay for lunch.  This weeks food truck is Captain Poncho’s Tacos along with The Parlour.

Keeping community in mind, the market also offers donation yoga at 11 am to noon with Trudy Taylor who believes yoga is fun and helpful for anyone.

John Dancy-Jones will be making and selling land-laid paper.  There will be a papermaking demonstration and an opportunity for you to make a sheet and take a sheet of handmade paper home.

The Saturday Market

Rebus Works gallery, located next to the Boylan Street Bridge, downtown Raleigh, began The Saturday Market at Rebus Works in April.  The market continues weekly through November.  The idea is to combine farmers, crafters, and food and beverage trucks in one location.  Although the idea is not new, it is new to Raleigh.  The Saturday Market offers a unique setting where vendors are set up along a meandering path, past the chicken coop and gardens, right in the heart of downtown Raleigh.

The Saturday Market is located at 301-2 Kinsey Street, (next to the Boylan Street Bridge) Raleigh, NC and is open every Saturday from 9-2pm and will continue through November 17.
